Auto Body Technicians at a Glance

Auto body technicians fix cars after they have been damaged. Repairs range from major structural damage to dents and dings. Tools used include cutting and welding equipment, sanders, and other power tools. Auto body technicians work in both body shops and dealerships, and they need a broad set of skills to assess damage and determine how to repair the vehicle. Strong customer service capabilities are also typically necessary.
