Job Description

Pre-assemble electrical components using engineering and manufacturing documents.

This position is for the 2:30 pm to 11:00 pm shift M-F.

Day to Day Responsibilities

  • Assist in a variety of departments, including but not limited to, wire harness and all production lines
  • Read, understand and utilize various engineering and manufacturing documents including bills of materials, assembly drawings, assembly instructions, wiring schematics and diagrams
  • Verify parts match Bill of Materials
  • Pre-assemble electrical components per documentation
  • Layout and mount control panel parts per specification (2D drawings)
  • Assemble control panel steel per documentation
  • Cut, strip, crimp and wire 26 AWG – 500 MCM per “to-from” documentation with a high degree of accuracy
  • Bend and terminate larger wire (14AWG – 2AWG normally, 1/0 – 500MCM occasionally)
  • Apply hand/power tools to ensure correct torque
  • Straighten, align, and organize wires to professional standards
  • Perform re-work of wiring and assembly at request and guidance of QA Technicians
  • Document QA and problem resolution logs
  • Maintain a safe, organized and efficient work area
  • Assist in 6S and Lean activities as required
  • Identify and assist in process improvement measures
  • Assist in establishing and implementing best work practices
  • Ensure the promotion of customer focus throughout the organization

Minimum Years of Experience

3 years electrical training or education preferred, or equivalent experience. Ability to use “torque” tools. Proficiency reading and interpreting electrical schematics / diagrams preferred. Proficiency using hand and power tools in a safe manner. Proficiency using measurement tools such as calipers, tape measurers, and torque tools. Good hand dexterity and strength. High motivation level and ability to multi-task. Ability to work independently with limited supervision. Ability to work well with others. Strong attention to detail, organization and time management skills. Basic math and communication skills. Demonstrated computer skills. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English without the aid of an interpreter. Ability to work overtime depending on work load.
