Job Description

Dalco is on the hunt for a technician with strong electrical and mechanical skills to work on industrial floor cleaning and facilities maintenance equipment, primarily Tennant floor scrubbers and sweepers. Industry leading training resources are at our fingertips, so prior floor equipment experience is not required. This person may be driving to customer sites to perform repairs so a customer focused attitude will definitely be key!

Day to Day Responsibilities

  • Repair customer’s equipment, demo and used equipment.
  • Requisition parts for equipment in repair department.
  • Escalate customer trouble to manager for proper handling.
  • Set up new and demo equipment.
  • Stock new equipment.
  • Assist in preventive maintenance contracts.
  • Check on status of backordered parts.
  • Log equipment in for repair.
  • Assist in the pick-up and delivery of equipment.
  • Maintain a clean work area.
  • Display a courteous and helpful attitude in order to provide a positive experience for our customers.
  • Regularly listen to customers in an empathetic manner, ensuring an understanding of questions, concerns and requests and their feeling associated with them.
  • Recommend potential departmental changes and improvements.
  • Assist all customer support departments in resolution of customer problems and satisfaction of needs.
  • Seek input from employees, supervisors and other personnel involved with the job.
  • The company may at any time change functions and requirements of the position to meet the needs of the business.
  • Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.

Minimum Years of Experience

Entry level. High School education and technical education. Must demonstrate mechanical and electrical skills. Junior 0-2 years’ experience. Intermediate 2-4 years’ experience. Senior 4 years or more experience. Must demonstrate mechanical and electrical skills. Must provide personal hand tools. Dalco Core Values – Expertise, Attitude, Relationships, Solutions. 2 -4 years’ experience in small equipment repair or equivalent. One-year experience using Outlook, Internet, Word, Excel, Access. Forklift certificate desired or will train. Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs. Good reading and mathematical skills. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Able to cope in a stressful and fast paced environment. Detail oriented and ability to perform multiple tasks. Trustworthy, honest and respects confidentiality. Reliable, courteous and a pleasant attitude. Driving may be required – valid driver’s license required. Authorized usage of company vehicle will require a Motor Vehicle record to be pulled and reviewed. An MVR form must be completed and reviewed and added to ‘authorized’ driver list prior to driving any Dalco Enterprises, Inc. company vehicles.
