Job Description

As a Ziegler Intern Technician, you will assist in troubleshooting and repairing heavy diesel engines, construction or agriculture equipment in a shop environment. You will learn to respond to customer needs in a positive, supportive, and timely manner to ensure maximum value for work performed.

Day to Day Responsibilities

The responsibilities of a full-time technician include:

• Diagnose and repair Caterpillar equipment as well as other brands
• Respond to customer needs in a positive, supportive, and timely manner to ensure maximum value for work performed
• Maintain a clean and safe work area, adhere to all safety procedures
• Follow standard operating procedures
• Clean and organize equipment
• Attend formal training
• Help to prepare new equipment for rent or sale
• Provide assistance to all other levels of technicians as needed in regard to troubleshooting repairs
• Perform other duties as assigned/required
• Maintain paperwork documentation of work performed (work orders) in a complete and timely manner on a daily/job basis
• Document labor, addition of segments, assuring that work order can be closed and billed as communicated with the customer
• Positively interact with manager and team members to satisfy customer needs
• Communicate effectively with customers, both internal and external

Minimum Years of Experience

Be currently enrolled in a 2-year degree program in diesel engine mechanics, construction and/or agricultural equipment mechanics or related study. Maintain good grades. Receive positive recommendations from instructors. Positive attitude and desire to work as a team player. Own mechanic tool set. Ability to maintain safe and clean work environment.

Salary or Hourly Rate

$17 per hour
