Job Description

As an Industrial Cleaning Laborer, you will perform physical labor at industrial cleaning construction project sites. Labor may include cleaning tanks, working with vacuum trucks, and performing hydro blasting.

Day to Day Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor at construction project sites
• Ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed, bringing any concerns to the attention of the project Foreman, Superintendent, General Superintendent, Safety Director, or Management
• Work with industrial cleaning and hydro blasting equipment, including vacuum trucks
• Clean process equipment
• Maintain a clean job site at all times, pick up all material, tools, and small equipment, and secure job site each day in order to eliminate potential hazards
• Responsible for material handling and storage
• Perform cleaning of storage tanks and working in industrial sites
• Keep project foreman, superintendent, or general superintendent informed of known actions, written or verbal, which may affect the ability to successfully perform tasks at construction project sites or adversely affect company operations
• Complete other projects or duties as assigned by a supervisor
• Regularly lift up to 50 lbs

Minimum Years of Experience

Five years of industrial cleaning experience strongly preferred. Hold Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) License. Possess Medical card for operating a DOT vehicle. Ability to wear a respirator. 40-hour HAZWOPER, confined space entry, OSHA-30, and First Aid/CPR certifications required. Possess knowledge and ability to work with equipment, materials, and supplies found in construction work. Possess knowledge of applicable safety precautions and procedures and ability to follow proper use and safety guidelines. Ability to view and understand Veit’s safety training video. Have a willingness and ability to perform manual work. Possess effective communication skills both oral and written when working with all levels of management and employees, external vendors, and other business associates. Ability to understand, follow, and transmit written and oral instructions. Ability to work with mathematical concepts. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency as required by management and/or project requirements. Position requires 50-75% of time traveling. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test.
