Job Description

Utilize the proper tooling and machining to safely complete all projects while meeting extremely tight deadlines within a full-service steel facility.

Day to Day Responsibilities

• Read and interpret project plans, blueprints and other written instructions, diagrams, and verbal instructions to perform assigned tasks correctly.
• Select appropriate tooling and machines to perform machining jobs.
• Perform cutting operations using manual lathes, milling machines, grinders, and line boring machines.
• Inspect workpieces using calipers, micrometers (outside, inside, and depth), bore gages, and other precision measuring instruments
• Complete machining to project specs, some with extremely tight deadlines.
• Comply with all Safety Requirements to maintain a safe work area for you and your co-workers

Minimum Years of Experience

2-year Machine Tool diploma or degree from a community college or technical program. Equivalent work experience directly related to Manual Machining may also be acceptable. Proficient at setting up and operation of manual lathes, milling machines, and grinders Line boring experience is desired. Ability to perform mathematical calculations and determine workpiece dimensions. Proficient Blueprint reading skills. Available to work full time with possible weekend work per project demands. High School Diploma/GED and must be 18 (Eighteen) years of age or older.
