Carlisle Fluid Technologies has an immediate opportunity for a Sheet Metal Worker in their Blaine facility, four (4) ten-hour shifts Monday – Thursday. This position fabricates, figures, lays out, assembles, installs, and repairs sheet metal parts, equipment, and products, utilizing knowledge of working characteristics of metallic and nonmetallic materials, machining, and layout techniques, using hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment.

Job Description

As a Sheet Metal Worker, you will fabricate, figure, lay out, assemble, install, and repair sheet metal parts, equipment, and products, utilizing knowledge of working characteristics of metallic and nonmetallic materials, machining, and layout techniques, using hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment.

Day to Day Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, or product specifications to determine sequence and methods of fabricating, assembling, and installing sheet metal products
  • Select gauge and type of sheet metal, such as galvanized iron, copper, steel, or aluminum
  • Set up and operate fabricating machines, such as shears, brakes, presses, forming rolls, and routers, to cut, bend, block and form or straighten materials
  • Repair and maintain sheet metal products
  • May work with nonmetallic material, such as plastics or fiberglass, according to product specifications
  • Select and position flat, V-block, radius, or special purpose die sets into ram and bed of machine, using jib or crane
  • Operate press equipped with two or more rams to bend angles or flanges or bend to radius by successive passes; or operate multiple acting hydraulic press to perform deep progressive and reverse draw operations of sheet metal
  • Grind out burrs and sharp edges, using portable grinder
  • Perform daily safety and preventative maintenance checks of equipment
  • Perform other related responsibilities as needed and assigned

Minimum Years of Experience

High school diploma or GED. One (1) year of sheet metal fabrication equipment experience. Able to lift 75 pounds. Preferred candidates will have a two (2) year technical certificate.
